First clean the surface with a soft cloth to avoid scratches during the subsequent treatment. Apply a suitable amount of polish (depending on the depth of the scratches or degree of oxidation) to the surface.
Polish the surface with one of the polishing cloths included in the kit until the desired surface condition is achieved. Thoroughly remove the polish residue with a clean cotton cloth.
Only for matte / brushed metals. Gold, silver, aluminum, copper, brass should be treated with the special 5000 grit sandpaper using a light sanding motion. First treat stainless steel or platinum with the special 2000 grit sandpaper. If the structure with the 2000 grit sandpaper is too fine, carefully repeat the process with the 1000 grit sandpaper (color: grey). This allows the original structure of the matte/brushed surface to be reproduced.
Please do not apply the restoration paste to coated metals (e.g. anodized aluminum, etc.).
Tips:
Black deposits on the cloth are normal. If the cloth does not turn black during polishing, STOP – this metal cannot be polished.
There are a thousand uses for a powerful metal cleaner; grandmothers old silver cutlery, long unworn gold jewelry, unappealing metal surfaces around the house – from window sills to zinc sheet railings, copper fittings or curtain rods and curtain accessories as well as brass stair balusters and landings.
Owners of brass objects, but also other (precious) metals such as gold, silver, platinum, chrome, stainless steel, aluminum, magnesium and nickel have a great struggle with the tarnishing of the material. The material develops unattractive black spots or a dark tarnish.
Refreshing metals – from matte to gloss.
When the ravages of time gnaw on metal objects, they often leave unattractive scratches, rust, or scrape marks. It doesn’t matter whether the metal has a matte, brushed or high-gloss surface.
Get those silver candlesticks, napkin rings and cutlery back to their original shine for the grand dinner party. Or bring the shine back to your stainless-steel pots – QUIXX Metal can handle it all.
The all-inclusive kit contains a high-performance polishing paste and a special polishing cloth that quickly eliminate all traces of use.
Also effective for removing scratches in metal.
Only a relatively small amount of polishing agent is required depending on the depth of the scratches (or the degree of tarnishing). The effect is immediate (as can be seen by the black residue left on the polishing cloth). If the cloth does not turn black when polishing it shows that this particular metal cannot be polished.
Restore brushed or matte surfaces.
After pre-treating the surface with polishing paste, the matte effect is restored using special sandpaper. Different types of metal are treated with sandpaper with different grit sizes:
Special 5000 grit sandpaper is used for gold, silver, aluminum, copper and brass. The original structure of the matte / brushed surface can be reproduced by appropriate sanding movements.
The special 2000 grit sandpaper is used for stainless steel or platinum. The original structure of the matte / brushed surface can be reproduced by appropriate sanding movements. If the structure with the 2000 grit sandpaper is too fine, carefully repeat the process with the 1000 grit sandpaper (color: grey).
